Class context: Bathurst class

The Bathurst class was Australia’s wartime multi-role “Australian Minesweeper,” commonly called a corvette. Compact, simple, and suited to Australian yards, the class combined minesweeping with convoy escort, patrol, anti-submarine, survey, and postwar clearance work across a very wide operating area.

Later service and disposition

Lost after collision off Western Australia.

This ship is recorded as a member of Bathurst class. Shared design history belongs on the class page; this page concentrates on the individual hull where evidence is available.
